Water Park Attractions In Orlando Disney Area

With warm weather year round, Orlando Florida is the perfect place for water park family fun! Walt Disney World has two great water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Both have a combination of fast slides and small kid play areas.

Blizzard Beach has a few more high speed water slides and white water rapid rides, while Typhoon Lagoon has more wave pool and wide open areas. Let's take a closer look at these two Disney water parks!

Disney's newest water park, Blizzard beach has a cool snow theme to it. With fake snow covered mountains, it even has a fake ski lift to the top of the main water slide! Summit Plummet is the second tallest and fastest free fall slide in the world.

It also features the worlds longest family white-water raft ride that is lots of fun. Plus there are several other fast water slides, inner tube slides and toboggan runs. For the little kids there is a whole section of smaller water rides, pools and play areas.

Disney's Blizzard Beach also has many places to eat, from hot dogs and drinks to a full restaurant with chicken and more. For a fun day at a water park, Blizzard Beach can't be beat!

In sharp contrast to the snow at Blizzard beach, Typhoon Lagoon is a tropical paradise themed water park. It features a large surf pool that makes 6 ft. high waves you can jump in. The outer edges of the pool is gentle for little kids and you can relax on the white sand beach.

For those who want a bit more adventure there is shark reef. You can snorkel in this salt water lagoon and swim with real live sharks, stingrays and tropical fish. All the equipment is free of charge. Don't worry, the sea life here is harmless.

Typhoon Lagoon also has 9 water slides, from fast, near vertical ones to more gentle ones. A big small kids play area and river round out this great water park. You can choose from several fast food huts, outdoor pool bar and even restaurants when your hungry.

Both of Disney's water parks have bus transportation to and from Disney resorts and hotels. Wearing a pair of rubber flip flops is highly recommended. The sand and ground can get really hot! Please wear modest bathing suits, thongs are not allowed.

Both Blizzard beach and Typhoon Lagoon have rental lockers you can store your items in, and changing areas. Be sure to wear lots of sunscreen, the Florida sun can make you red in no time! If you can, try out both of Disney's water parks and see how fun it is!
