Halloween Horror Nights At Universal Studios 2010
60Halloween Horror Nights 20th celebration
It's almost time once again for Universal Studios Halloween Horror nights 2010! This year marks the 20th time that Universal Studios has held Halloween Horror nights, and they are coming out with some all new stuff to celebrate.
Halloween Horror nights is held inside the Universal Studios theme park, not Islands of Adventure or CityWalk. It's a special event, which means you have to buy separate tickets for this, as normal theme park tickets are NOT valid!
They let the normal day guest out of the park, then spend an hour transforming the park into a creepy Halloween theme. They really do a good job too, and this year there will be lots of scare zones. Then they let the event guest in around 6:00 or 7:00 PM and it last until 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning.
Halloween Horror nights
Scare zones, shows and haunted houses
Halloween Horror nights consist of three different categories. The scare zones, the Halloween shows and the Haunted houses, which is the main attraction. Here's a brief breakdown of what's going on.
HALLOWEEN SHOWS
1. This year at Universal Studios Halloween Horror nights they will have Brian Brushwood, master illusionist doing a gory, strange live show of magic and mayhem. There will be several shows a night and it should be good!
2. Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween adventure! Yes they are back, as they are every Halloween Horror nights with a funny musical live stage show. It's good fun, loud and lots of light!
SCARE ZONES
These are areas of the park that have different creepy zombies, ghost and other scary villains that scare and chase you as you walk around the park, fun fun! This year's Halloween Horror nights they are:
The Coven
Zombie Gras
Fear Reveled
Saws N Steam
HHN: 20 years of fear
Esqueleto Muerte
Each one will have different ways of scaring you. From witches, zombies, chainsaw welding manics, Fear itself and more, watch out when your walking around!
THE HAUNTED HOUSES
These are the main events, the eight haunted houses that you go in and get scared silly! All new this year, each one has it's own creepy theme. Here's the name of each one to give a hint of what to expect in each one.
Havoc: Dogs of war
Catacombs, black death rising
Horror Nights, the Hallow'd past
Hades, the gates of ruin
Zombiegeddon
Legendary truth, the Wyandot Estate
Psychoscarepy: Echos of Shadybrook
The Orfanage: Ashes to ashes
My my, this years Halloween Horror nights sound like such great fun! Ive been to the last three, so let me now give you some advice and general information that will be helpful if you go.
Halloween Horror nights general information
Let me give you some good advice if your going to this years Halloween Horror nights. There is no age limit, so you CAN bring your 3 yr old if you want. However this is a very mature, very gory and scary event.
I do NOT advise anyone under the age of 13 to see this. I've seen some bring very small kids in and I know they are going to have some bad nightmares. As you wait in the long lines to each haunted house, they show a montage of past horror movies on outside screens.
These are R rated, very bloody and gory. The actors running around have very realistic makeup on, with eyes popping out, blood everywhere and so on. Please do your little kids a favor and do NOT bring them here!
The lines to the haunted houses can get very long, often 2 or 3 hours wait. You can buy a fast past ticket, but they are expensive. All the rides will be going, so you can also take in your favorite rides at Universal Studios theme park, but not Islands of Adventure.
Halloween Horror nights evenings:
Sept. 24, 25, 30 Oct. 1-3, 7-10, 14-17, 20-24, 27-31
For full ticket prices, special passes and lots of other information check out the official Halloween Horror nights website. If you get an error when you click it that means they are updating it, try again later.
So if you want a good scare and are in the area, check out Universal Studios Halloween Horror nights 2010, celebrating 20 years of scaring guest silly! It's the best Halloween event you can go to, as long as you can handle the frights!

Very informative hub! I've always been curious about this event...but my daughter is still too young, unfortunately.....however, in a few years she won't be...I was wondering, doesn't Universal have some sort of "fast pass" system like Disney, yet?
